AP Calculus BC-2018 - 2019

Course Description

 

The main objectives of the class are to prepare the students for college level mathematics, enable students to tie together all of the mathematics topics that they have learned throughout high school, and to prepare them for the AP Calculus exam.  Student will be expected to approach problems numerically, graphically, and symbolically.  In conjunction, students will also need to be able to justify their solutions both verbally and through well-written sentences that explains the logic and thought process of the situation.  We also spend time learning how to use technology to estimate answers, check results, complete steps to multi-step problems, and support conclusions.

Contact your post-secondary institution regarding their policy for AP credit to see what college credit you may receive based on your AP score.  The AP Exam consists of two sections with two parts each.

Multiple Choice (50%):  30 Non-Calculator Questions (60 Minutes), 15 Calculator Questions (45 Minutes)

Free Response (50%):  2 Calculator Questions (30 Minutes), 4 Additional Non-Calculator Questions (60 Minutes)
