CHS Biology

Course Description

This course begins with the study of ecology in terms of energy, relationships, and conservation.  Next, students will study DNA through genetics and heredity, and finish the year learning about animal adaptations and evolution. Students learn biological concepts through the scientific practices of modeling and questioning. Laboratory experiences foster an understanding of scientific processes and the development of scientific habits. Students design and conduct investigations; record, analyze, and present data; account for errors; and formulate evidence-based conclusions.
