Andrea Hoekstra Selected as New High School Princpal

Hoekstra exhibits a genuine passion for education.  When asked about how she felt about her new role, Ms. Hoekstra stated, “I am honored to step into the position of serving as the building principal at Carlisle High School. I have a vested interest in our school system at Carlisle and look forward to creating a culture of learning that meets the needs of all of our students. It is imperative to ensure all students receive an education that is rigorous, engaging, and inspiring to  best equip our students for post-secondary success. I look forward to working with students, staff, families, and the community of Carlisle.“

Ms. Hoekstra distinguished herself as the best fit for this position through her demonstrated instructional leadership and passion for the Carlisle school community.  Her education includes: Bachelor of Arts in Marketing/Corporate Communication from Buena Vista University, Master of Arts in Communication/Secondary Education from Pittsburg State University, and an Educational Specialist degree in Administration (Pk-12 Principal) from the University of South Dakota. 

“Carlisle CSD is proud to have Andrea Hoekstra as the new principal for Carlisle High School.  I have no doubt that Ms. Hoekstra will be an excellent leader,” said, Bryce Amos, superintendent of Carlisle CSD. “During her time at Carlisle High School, she’s been a leader among her peers. She’s a great problem solver and collaborative leader. With her passion for the Carlisle school community and her background as an instructional coach, I’m excited to see her take Carlisle High School to the next level of performance.”

The Hoekstra family has lived in the Carlisle Community School District since June of 2004. Andrea is married to Mark Hoekstra, and they have two children who graduated from Carlisle. Madison is a 2018 CHS graduate and currently attends Pittsburg State University pursuing a  Nursing degree, and Molly is a 2020 graduate of CHS and will attend Drake University to study Health Sciences and will play softball for the Bulldogs.
