Carlisle Earns Raccoon River Conference All-Sports Title

 

The Carlisle Wildcats finished the 2016-17 school year on top of the all-sports standings in the Raccoon River Conference. The league is comprised of eight teams. The title is determined by an accumulation of points based on where each of the eight conference teams (ADM, Ballard, Bondurant-Farrar, Boone, Carlisle, Carroll, Perry and Winterset) finish in league standings in 14 league-sponsored sports. A first-place finish earns the school eight points, second place earns seven points, etc. The Wildcats won four league titles this past year: boys cross country, boys track and field, girls track and field and baseball.

Carlisle totaled 83 points, edging second-place ADM by three points. Breaking sports down by gender, Carlisle ranked first among boys sports and third among girls sports. The last time Carlisle won the all-sports title was in 2014-15. A total summary of 2016-17 follows:
