Guiding Coalition Overview
At Carlisle High School, our staff takes great pride in creating a safe learning environment that allows all students to learn at high levels. In order to create systems across our school that involve and maintain high levels of learning along with researched based strategies that are collective commitments of successful schools.
The following Guiding Coalition’s are for the 2019-2020 school year:
Teach Like a Pirate (Book Study & Implementation)
Leader: Matthew Blackmore
Purpose: To read, reflect and implement effective teaching and learning strategies across all staff members at CHS.
2019-2020 Focus: To provide professional development and learning on formative data of TLAP techniques and interventions across all staff.

PBIS: Positive Behavior Intervention Support
Leader: Kari Murray
Purpose: To identify students who need additional support through the statewide SEMBH model and to provide intervention and supports.
2019-2020 Focus: To provide professional development concerning SEMBH to all staff.

P3: Policies, Practices & Procedures
Leader: Chad Street
Purpose: To evaluate policies, procedures, and practices concerning day to day operations at CHS.
2019-2020 Focus: To continue to evaluate the student handbook (ID & Parking Protocols).

Grading & Reporting
Leader: Andrea Hoekstra
Purpose: To create unified reporting of student learning at CHS.
2019-2020 Focus: To implement a 100% summative grading & reporting system as well as student data notebooks and continue to work towards standard referenced grading.

Closing the Gap
Leader: Michael Geisler & Hayley Hudson
Purpose: To evaluate and dig deeper into School Improvement Plan Goal Area #1 by reducing the Achievement Gap between both students served with an IEP and student not served with an IEP.
2019-2020 Focus: To research effective co-teaching and data team interventions for all students to learn at high levels.
