We have a very strong school counseling team at Carlisle Community School District. All of us strive to support all of the students as they learn and grow into adults. I have the opportunity to work with fourth through eighth grade students with individual and small group counseling as well as large group instruction as needed. The focus of these sessions is usually social/emotional, academic, and/or behavioral learning and problem solving. I use a great deal of Solution-Focused, cognitive behavioral, and growth mindset counseling and strategies. I recently have been learning more about the influence of adverse childhood experiences and their impact on our students and learning.
It has been my privilege to work with the Carlisle Community School District for the last 26 years both as a special educator and a school counselor. I continue to learn and grow due to my experiences with students, families, and colleagues. Besides being a school counselor I am a mom to a teenager, enjoy creativity, and learning new things.
