Mrs. Amfahr's Third Grade Class

Welcome to third grade!  I hope that you and your child enjoy his/her school year.  I have lots of fun and exciting activities planned!  Third grade is another step towards independence and responsibility of the child.  Please feel free to call me at school between 7:30 and :45 or email me if you have any questions or concerns. Communication between parents and teachers help make it a successful year for all of us!

 

Now, a little about me.  This will be my 16th year at Carlisle Elementary.  Previously, I taught fourth grade at Martensdale-St. Marys.  My husband, John, was a high school social studies teacher at Martensdale-St. Marys.  I have three children.  Katelyn will be a freshman at the University of Iowa. My son, William, will be a sophomore in high school, and Carolyn will be an eighth grader.  We also have a three year old Boston Terrier named Ellie.  All my children are in sports.  Needless to say, there have been many hours spent on a football field, baseball field, basketball court, or track during the school year as well as the summer.  When not watching a game, I enjoy hanging out with family and friends, playing games, reading, hiking, and baking.
