JOIN THE COMMITTEE
The After Prom committee is made up completely of parent volunteers. There is nothing magical about being a part of the committee, everyone is welcome and appreciated! Every year, students graduate and their parents move on - After Prom is always looking for parents willing to jump in and help out!
 
Some positions that are currently available for 2023 After Prom Committee (and do NOT require any special skills other than a willingness to help throw the best After Prom party EVER) include:
  • Prize Committee Chair
  • Fundraising Committee Chair
  • Registration Chair
Anyone willing and able to spend a few hours each year planning, organizing, and volunteering is perfect for After Prom - your contribution is valuable in any size, shape, or form!

SIGN UP FOR AN AFTER PROM COMMITTEE

After Prom has several committees for parents to choose from so their skills can best be utilized. There is no obligation to be on more than one committee, but don't be afraid to volunteer as a committee Chair!

Your committee options include:

  • FUNDRAISING: CHS After Prom is a 501(c)3 organization, making any donations tax deductible. This committee is responsible for identifying and organizing fundraising opportunities, making sure there are sufficient volunteers, and communicating events to the public.
  • DECORATIONS: This committee will plan, collect and put up decorations for Grand March and After Prom. You can expect to design and/or build items for these events so if you're at all crafty, this is the committee for you!
  • FOOD: The food committee from previous years have graduated all their students and we need some good organizers and go-getters to run this committee. The food committee will gather donations and determine food needs for After Prom, providing enough food for all the students for the entire night.
  • TUXEDO RENTAL: Organizational skills can really be put to good use in this committee! Tuxedo rental through Indianola Hy-Vee has been a decent fundraiser in the past but is an enormous convenience for our students. Will help students with fittings, making sure they pick up all of the correct pieces they paid for, and return the same at After Prom.
  • REGISTRATION: This committee creates the registration form, collects payments, keeps track of student volunteers who have earned free entry, and will check students into After Prom, contacting parents of those who don't show up.
  • PRIZES: On this committee, you will secure prizes to distribute at After Prom. This includes reaching out to local businesses and corporations to get prize donations. This committee will also distribute the prizes to students throughout After Prom, making sure all prizes are awarded and picked up at the end of the night. 
 
All volunteers are welcome and encouraged, even if you don't know which committee you want to be on. Email for more information or to sign up!

VOLUNTEERS AND DONATIONS ARE ALWAYS NEEDED

The only way After Prom happens is with the help of parent volunteers and generous donations from the community. To the right you will find two (2) downloadable forms:

  • The first is a more formal corporate donation request form if you or your employer would like to donate prizes, money, or time. We are a 501(c)3 organization, so all donations are tax-deductible.
  • The second form is a little more tongue-in-cheek and is considered an 'Un-Fundraiser' request. Feel free to download and print the form to share with friends and neighbors!
 
Some employers offer paid volunteer hours to their employees so they can help charitable organizations without having to forfeit paid time. Please check with your HR department to see if you have this benefit and please consider using that time to help out with Carlisle After Prom.
