The Carlisle School Board approved Gregory Marshall as the new principal at Carlisle Middle School. Marshall has been in education for 15 years, with the last four years serving as an Associate Principal and School Improvement Leader at Des Moines Lincoln High School. Prior to his time at Lincoln High School, Marshall was an instructional coach and teacher at Des Moines East High School and teacher at Weeks Middle School. Mr. Marshall has a strong background in instruction and in building relationships with students, staff, families, and community members.

The Carlisle Community School District (“District”) is requesting bids from those persons interested in purchasing, removing, and relocating the structure currently located on the property locally known as 200 School Street, Carlisle, Iowa.
The Property will be sold “AS IS,” with no warranties or representations as to condition, including the presence of hazardous materials of any kind, or appropriateness for any use, and must be removed from the property by the purchaser no later than June 30, 2021.
The Carlisle School Board approved the school calendar for the 2020-21 school year at its monthly meeting on March 8th.
The school calendar was developed by the district’s Calendar Committee comprised of parents and district staff. Under the calendar, classes will start August 23 for grades 1-12. Pre-School, Kindergarten & Kindergarten Prep starting on August 30. Kindergarten and Preschool have later start dates to allow teachers to conduct home visit with parents prior to start of the school year.
High School Graduation Ceremony is scheduled for Sunday, May 22.
The district will continue with early out dismissals every Wednesday at 1:30 to allow for professional development and planning for teachers and staff.
