Hello! I am Kristin Kapusinski, better known as "Mrs. Kap." I am one of the two reading interventionists here at Carlisle Elementary. I help support students in reading. I serve students in kindergarten through third grade in a small group setting both in and out of the classroom. My main goal is to help students develop solid foundational reading skills to make them successful, lifelong readers!
I am entering my fourth year as a reading interventionist and my twelfth year teaching here in Carlisle. I previously taught first grade for seven years and then one year of second grade. I graduated from Central College with a bachelor's degree in education, a reading endorsement, a coaching authorization and a minor in Spanish. I completed my Master's degree in education from Viterbo University in 2010. Teaching and working with kids has always been my passion!
In my free time, I love to spend time with my family. I have a six year old son named Cade and a four year old daughter named Lena. They are very active, and it’s been fun watching them grow! My husband is also a teacher! He teaches math at Southeast Polk High School. We are proud to call Carlisle our home! Some other things I enjoy are playing and watching sports, being outside, shopping and playing really any type of game. I am a huge Dallas Cowboys fan, so you'll see (and hear me) cheering for them all fall! Go Cowboys!
Thank you for taking the time to visit my site. I've included some great resources that might help you and your child with reading. Of course, if you have any questions, feel free to email me at: firstname.lastname@example.org or contact the elementary office at: 515-989-0339
