Joshua Baxter - High School Alternative Services Teacher

Hello, Wildcats!  I am a very passionate educator that has dedicated life to helping students see their true potential.  I have been teaching for 13 years.  After finishing my bachelor's degree at Northwest Missouri State University, I taught for two years in Madrid, Iowa.  I was honored to join the Carlisle High School staff in 2007.  I spent the next eight years teaching special education and moved to alternative services in 2015.  This move allowed me to work with more students in more ways.

I am a super proud father of three amazing young people.  They all attend Carlisle schools and are earning a great education in three of our four buildings.  My wife also works in our school system.

In my time away from school, I still want to work with youth.  I am a high school baseball umpire with four state tournament appearances, a high school football official, and a volunteer coach with the Carlisle youth association basketball program.  I like to stay very busy!
